I’ve been getting a headache sincde Tuesday when I started taking the thyroid supplements. Can anyone comment on why? There’s really nothing in there to hurt me, at least I don’t think?

I went to a ND and found that I have an underactive thyroid (I suspected this much, my hair has thinned and I’m always tired), I would really like to try helping my condition on my own before shelling out the money he’s asking for to treat this thing. Maybe I should, he says my hair will come back in, anyway do you have any suggestions, I have heard of kelp, I was at the natural foods store today and saw so many thyroid supplements I couldn’t even guess w/o more education on the matter. Penny for your thoughts…
u know more than once I went to MD’s and they treated me like I was a 20 something year old female boo whooing b/c her hair was shedding and she felt tired, this ND did a thorough exam for at least 1 hr and then told me this info, even though I suspected it for years. I waited to hear them say it, I never mentioned it the ND. I wanted to cry when i finally heard it, b/c I really knew something was going on w/ my body but MD’s wouldn’t listen

its done it 3 times since I had the flu a few months ago. It makes me feel gross. And I want to try a natural dietary supplement for it, instead of steroids or prescription drugs. will the ones that say "thyroid support" or whatever keep it from swelling up yet again?

I am 52 years old, single, and recently was approved for Medicare Parts A & B. I need Diabetic, Thyroid, and Pain medications. I would like some input from any Oklahoma residents who have had some experience with different supplemental insurances. Does anyone recommend the AARP prescription coverage?

A few years ago I was on thyroid medication which turned out to be unnecessary; I was taken off the meds and currently still am off of them. Since then, I have been experiencing symptoms that hint at an underlying thyroid problem. I gained a lot of weight, sweat at abnormal levels, have fluid retention, a small goiter, constantly chapped lips, bad circulation, problems concentrating and remembering things, mood swings, and the like. After being taken off the the thyroid medication, I started seeing a new doctor who said that I was now in the normal range for thyroid function. He later diagnosed me with Hashimoto’s Thyroitis. I’m not being given any thyroid supplement at the moment.

Could my thyroid problem be caused by being on unnecessisary medication from before?

Should I be on low doses of medication now to help balance out my symptoms? I’ve read many things about individuals testing in the normal range, but not having it normal for them. I’ve also heard that Hashimoto’s is treated with a supplement of thyroid meds (which I’m not getting, even though it’s what I have.)

Thanks in advance for any advice. I’m getting really fed up with my doctor being so strict and reliant on numbers and not on an individual’s symptoms and condition.

I have been diagnosed as having a slightly enlarged thyroid. All of my blood and urine tests are normal. The sonogram did not show any cysts or nodules. Are there any changes that I can make to my diet or any supplements that might help before it gets any larger?
My results have been reviewed with me by my DOCTOR during an office visit and not over the phone. All blood and urine tests ARE within in the normal range.

I am taking thyroid supplements….?

I just started taking supplements for my thyroid… and now it seems like i cant stop pooping. Is that normal. And can i loose weight or gain weight from this medicine.
